Little girl in sunglasses sat cross-legged by a suitcase

We’ve all been there. You’ve packed and re-packed the same bag multiple times to make sure everything is there. And yet somehow, as soon as you step on that plane you realise you’ve forgotten something.

Whether you’re the type to leave packing until the last minute or you like to be prepared weeks before you set off, it’s easy for certain items to slip your mind. Packing efficiently and thoroughly isn’t always as simple as it may seem, particularly if you’re packing for the whole family too. Use our essential beach holiday packing list to remind yourself of what needs to make it into your suitcase so that you can sit back and enjoy your holiday stress-free!

There are some essentials that have the power to stop all your holiday plans in their tracks if you forget them. If you don’t have the option to save boarding passes or other travel information on your phone for easy access, it’s often worth printing them off as a backup (just remember to recycle the paper afterwards!).

  • Passport
  • Driver’s license
  • Tickets / booking confirmations
  • Travel and health insurance documents
  • Currency or a travel money card

While these items can be bought if forgotten, sometimes it can be hard to get an exact replica. If you have sensitive skin or expensive makeup, remembering to pack those holiday essentials are what needs to go on your list.

  • Shower gel
  • Shampoo / conditioner
  • Toothbrush and toothpaste
  • Floss
  • Mouthwash

The elements of your first aid kit will depend on where you are travelling, but there are some items which we would recommend for your basic travel health kit. If you’re travelling to areas with a risk of malaria or other diseases, make sure you book an appointment with your doctor in plenty of time to ensure you get the correct medication or jabs.

  • Sleeping pills or ear plugs
  • Antiseptic cream
  • Tweezers
  • Travel-sickness tablets
  • Antihistamines
  • Cotton wool
  • Bandages

  • Scissors

If you take additional medicine, bring a copy of your prescription and letter from your doctor explaining why you need to take it.
